The disappearance of planes in many parts of the world while they are on test tiitthts has come to the notice of Ralph Richardson, in “Clouds Oven Europe, continuing for another week at the King s Theatre, and knowing that the firm of Barrett anil Ward are testing a supercharger for the air force, he endeavours to get Mr. Barrett’s permission to have his factory guarded. Success in this direction is not to Richardson; but that does not prevent him from removing the supercharger from the plane before it takes off on test —and its total disappearance, for the time, being. The foreign agents, sorely troubled when they discover no supercharger on the plane so ingeniously captured—they use a powerful ray whien renders the motors useless and upsets wireless transmission, the plant secreted on a salvage ship—and, fearing that the testa will not be continued if wreckage of the plane is not found, arrange for some to be washed ashore. But Richardson. a Scotland Yard man, is not so easily thrown off the scent. He inspects the wreckage and amazes the air force man in charge by informing him that the plane could not have been, in the water for more than 48 hours—it had been missing for than that —aud that it seemed mos’t peculiar for the sea to have carefully unbolted the motors before washing the plane ashore
