Very popular with the boys have been the visits to the little-known Lake Papaitoiigil, where canoeing has been enjoyed and a study made of the bird life which' abounds in this sanctuary. Other parties have made trips into the foothills of the Tararuas, camping overnight. .On New Year's Eve a concert was held round the eamplire, every camper being encouraged li* contribute to the programme. Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Briggs are in charge of the camp, which will continue till January 23.
