Mr. Attlee Visits Front (Received January 4, 9 p.m.) LONDON, January 3. A German plane ilew over Paris and eastern France last night. Anti-aircraft fire was heard in the capital. Radio stations closed down for half an hour. A French official evening communique states: "During the day patrol and reconnaissance parties successfully fulfilled their missions at various points of the front. Toward midday two enemy planes were brought down by our lighters.” Mr. C. R. Attlee, Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons, is visiting Hie B.E.F. Mr. Attlee, who is the first of the leading members of the Opposition to visit. the troops, himself saw active service on three fronts in the last war. On ‘Wednesday evening lie sent a message to the men he had seen in which he said: "We shall watch closely the position of workers at home. It is also up to us to help the relations of those who are out here, because the more we can do to make things happy and secure on the home front the more we can strengthen the front out here.”
