KING CONFIDENT OF VICTORY
Message To President Of France (Received January 4, 8 p.m.) LONDON, January 3. His Majesty the King and President Lebrun of France exchanged New Year greetings. His Majesty said : “With the greatest confidence I foresee victory in which wo will enjoy peace no longer troubled by threats of violence from those who have manifested their aversion from peace, except that of subjection to oppression.” President Lebrun said: “France, Britain and the Dominions are equally resolved to terminate the criminal aggressions which have plunged so many innocent populations into mourning and servitude.”
