ESCAPE FROM LOCKUP
Man Held By Police In (Palmerston North

PALMERSTON N„ January 3.
Eugene Charles Domini Patrick McCarthy. alias Hngliie McCarthy, alias Henry Johnson, labourer, aged 31. who was held by the Palmerston North police on a serious charge, escaped from the lockup between 7 o'clock and 7.-15 tonight. At a late hour he had not. been located.
McCarthy, who had been remanded and was to have appeared in court tomorrow, is described as of slim build, sft.. (Him in height, witli fair complexion, brown hair and hazel eyes. He is wearing a dark blue suit witli pin stripe and is without collar, tie or bat.
