Spanish Renaissance

General Franco, in a New Year address, declared his faith in a prompt Spanish renaissance, in spite of the havoc of the civil war, states a report from the Hendaye correspondent of “Tlie Times.” Genera] Franco added that the Falauge Parly would lead in carrying out without rancour a national revolution. All riches must be more equitably distributed, civil servants’ salaries’ must lie increased 10 to 10 per eent., infantile mortality and slum dwellings must be remedied, imports must be reduced from countries not purchasing from Spain, and industrial self-sufficiency must be attained. Spain's ruin was tlie result of delivering 18.000 tons of shipping to Russia.
