Scots College Loyalty
“’Today is the birthday of . His Majestv the King, and I think it is fitting that we should remember him,' said Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in > New Zealand, at the prize-giving ceremony at Scots College last night. Sir Harry said that there were many in the gathering who would remember the visit to New Zealand Their Majesties paid as Duke and Duchess o. York. “The King and Queen have set us all an example by their hard work and their devotion to duty,” he said. He thought it would be fitting if a message of loyalty were sent from the Scots College gathering that night to His Majesty. , - The chairman of the board of governors, Mr. A. Leslie Wall, said Scots College would be very grateful if Sir Harry Batterbee would undertake to convey a message of loyalty to His Majestv from the board of governors, masters, and pupils. Sir Harry agreed to see that such a loyal message was sent.
