Miss Valerie Anderson. Auckland, was admitted as a barrister of tbe Supreme Court of New Zealand by Mr. Justice Callan this week. Miss Anderson is a graduate of Auckland University College.

Lady Rutherford, England, who has been on a visit to the South Island, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning.

Miss Jocelyn Hornabrook, Masterton, and Miss Mary Allan, Wellington, who have been the guests of Miss Helen Buchanan, Christchurch, have left to visit Mrs. Angus McDonald, Edendale, Southland. Miss Hornabrook will return to Christchurch next week to visit Mrs. H. F. Nieoll. Clyde Road.

Mrs. G. H. Boyes, Wanganui, is visiting Wellington. Miss Helen Wright, Sjiorts mistress at Woodford House, Havelock North, will arrive in Christchurch today to spend the holidays with her father. Air. A. F. AVright, Cashmere. Mrs. L. J. Oliver, College Street, Palmerston North, visited AVellington this week on her way to Christchurch to attend the wedding of her neice. Aliss Betty Andrews, and Air. Bryan Boyd. Airs. S. J. Doolan, AVanganui, who has been visiting her daughter, Aliss Alary Doolan, AVellington, has returned home.

Aliss E. Bull, Christ’s College, and Aliss Beatrice Flower, Christchurch, will leave on Tuesday on a visit to Airs. J. E. Hall, Hastings. ’ Airs. G. A. Elliott, Palmerston North, is a visitor to AA'ellington.

Aliss Alary Oakley, 8.A., Hons., Oxford, has been appointed headmistress of the Craighead'-Diocesan School, Timaru, in succession to Aliss Helena Clarke.

Airs. Percy Jackson, AVellington. who recently returned from England, is visiting her father, Air. J. Redpath, and Airs. Redpath, Christchurch. She hopes to return to London early in January, accompanied by her two daughters.
