SCHOOL DESTROYED
Early Morning Fire

Early this morning the Waihi East School was totally destroyed by fire. The school consisted of live classrooms, with a roll number of 169. The headmaster, Mr. W. H. Stainton. lost a valuable library. The school museum, containing a rare collection of curios and specimens, was also destroyed. Nothing was saved.
