Welcome To New Minister

The welcome to the new minister of the Vivian Street Church of Christ, -Mr. V. C. .Stafford, and his wife, on Tuesday night, was attended by about lot) persons. Jlr. J. JI. Graydon presided. Letters of greeting were read from Jlr. A. G. Donald, president of the Conference of the Associated Churches of Christ in New Zealand, and from Mr. A. G. Saunders, the church’s last minister, who is now stationed at Ttiree, New South Wales. The other Churches of Christ in Wellington were represented by Jlessrs. RW. Simpson (minister at Lower Hutt), D. Walsh (Petone), and Milton Vickery (Wellington South). Jlr. W. G. Graham (minister at Wellington South), spoke on behalf of the' general executive and home mission committee. Items were given by the choir, and by Jlrs. H. J. Chapman, and a bouquet was presented to Jlrs. Stafford by Jlrs. N. F. Callam, who spoke on behalf of the women of the church. The Rev. Arthur Muriel, minister of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church, spoke of the happy relationships existing between the miuisterw of the various denominations in Wellington. Jlr. and Jlrs. Stafford, in their replies, spoke enthusiastically of the prospect before them in Wellington. Jlr. Stafford was formerly minister at Invercargill.
