PICTON EXCURSION

The Boxing Day steamer excursion to Pieton, so popular in the past, will this year be made by the Wahine, leaving Wellington at 8 a.m. The 52-mile voyage should take about two hours and a half, most o£ that time being spent in the sheltered waters of Wellington harbour, Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound. Launches will run to a number or beauty spots in Queen Charlotte Sound, at most of which lunch and hat water will be obtainable at nearby accommodation houses, and the Tuatea will be available for cruises. A special train for Blenheim will leave Pieton at 11 a.m., returning again at 1.25 p.m., in time to connect with the Wahine, which will leave Pieton at 2.30 p.m., and arrive at Wellington shortly after T> p.m.
