WAIKAREMOANA TROUT
Judging by the condition of Un- trout already taken at Waikaremoana, anglers who visit tin- lake during the Christmas holidays have the prospect: of enjoying excellent sport. Fishing in the vicinity of Te Buna recently, a party of three rods landed 13 iish, of an average weight of about 311 b. Tite condition of the younger lisli caught away from the mouths of the streams is particularly good, aud this is thought to lie a direct result of the infusion of new blood at the lake during the past two years. There is also evidence that the incidence of parasite in the tish is diminishing, aud this, too, is thought to be tlie result in some respects of recent liberations.
