MIRAMAR ESPERANTISTS’ ANNUAL MEETING
The second annual meeting of rhe Miramar Esperanto Society was held this week. The financial report, presented by the treasurer, Mr. C. Morrison, showed the society to be in a healthy condition, financially and numerically. The election of officers resulted :—I resident, Ml B. Potts; vice-president. Mrs. V. Sutherland ; secretary, Mr. \V. Smith; treasurer, Mr. C. Morrison: committee, Miss Ngaire Prentice and Mrs. L. Barton. A letter is to be sent to Mr. .L. Edmanson. thanking him for bis services as examiner on behalf of the New Zealand Esperanto Association. At the conclusion of business Mr. \V. Smith addressed members on tuition. A Jecturette was given by Mr. Potts in Esperanto on the need for the world to adopt Esperanto to solve its language problem. The people of the world sorely needed Esperanto to help in breaking down prejudice and distrust between nations, he said.
