Edible Seaweed

Sir, —-I have seen from time to time mention of edible seaweed, and that the freedom of the Maoris from goitre was due to its use. I think very few of the pakehas know what it is like, or where found. At this time, when the conservation of all food is of value, it would toe wise for them to learn. I myself only know the.long, ribbonlike and the grape-like sort. I would suggest that specimens might be exhibited in our local fishmongers’ shops, t and instruction how to use it. Any information would be welcome. —I am, etc., INQUIRERWellington, September 22.
