MONDAY’S WRESTLING
Rollend Kirchmeyer, the tall and capable wrestler from Oklahoma, who gave tine displays in the AVellington ring earlier this season, will be back in the Town Hall, AVellington, next Monday night, when he will meet Paul Jones, the tough and versatile Texan, who gave such a thrilling display against ‘‘Lofty’’ Blomfield. AA’hen Jones put his famous hook scissors on to Blomfield it was obvious to the spectators that that celebrated hold was all that had been claimed for it, and Blomfield said afterward that he felt as if ho was being cut in half. The hold earned Jones one fall, and there is general agreement that if he had not been distinetlv unfortunate when he applied the hold'again in the last round ho would have won the bout. Since thou Jones has beaten Ted “King Kong” Cox by two straight, falls, thereby being responsible for Cox’s first defeat this season. In every bout, in which he has participated Jones has shown that he is an expert at all phases of the sport, and there is a fieriness about his wrestling that rouses great excitement among audiences. Though Kirchmeyer will strive to keep clear of the book scissors, he is bound to lose no opportunity of putting on his python clutch. This hold has proved to be his most successful fall-winner this season. Kirchmeyer has all the qualities necessary to deal with Jones and everything points to a great duel. An attractive programme will be completed by two amateur bouts under Olympic rules, and a professional preliminary between two AVellington wrestlers.
