TROTS AND GALLOPS
Carnival Suggested A suggestion that the Wellington Trotting Club should hold u carnival in conjunction with the Wellington Racing Club at least once a year was made by Mr. T. G. Taylor at the annual meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club held in Petone hist night. So far as trots were concerned, he said. Wellington was the Cinderella. There was nothing at Christmas or Easter. The president, Mr. J. E. August, said the trotting club did race with the racing club at one time, but it was not successful. The trotting club would only get the off-days, and the stewards felt it would be a wrong thing for them to move away from the Saturday half-holiday. Mr. August also mentioned the difficulty of altering the trotting dates.
