Send-off To Mr. W. Turbott
The members of the management committee of (lie Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association last week farewell Mr. W. Turbott, who is leaving Auckland shortly to live in Hawera. Mr. J. F. IV. Dickson, chairman, remarked that Mr. Turbott had been a member of the committee for nine years, the last five of which he had acted as delegate for the Manukau club. , During this period Mr. Turbott had been an active and enthusiastic member of the committee and, though he had been an able advocate for the Manukau club, he had always placed the interests of the association first, and had always supported any proposal which would benefit the association, even though it might detrimentally affect: his. own club. Mr. Turboft was presented with a suitease as a token of Ihe asseiat ion's appreciation for his lengthy assistance to tlic game. He imide lop score of 39 for tlie South Auckland NT which played Australia in 1919.
