A large cargo of fruits and vegetables from the Cook Islands is being unloaded at Auckland by the Matua. which arrived on Saturday. The bulk of the shipment consists of more than 10,000 cases of oranges, which is less than usual, and may be the last of the season. The market has been well supplied. any deficiency resulting from the smaller crop in the Cook Islands during the season having been made up by regular shipments from Australia. The Mattia’s imports also include 2700 cases of bananas, in addition to tomatoes, lemons, mandarins, coconuts, bean’s, cucumbers, kumaras and taros.
