Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., Wanganui, and Mrs. Salmon, returned to New Zealand by the Awatea on Friday from a holiday visit to Australia. Mr. J. M. A. Hott, governing director of J. Hott, Limited, returned to Wellington by the Limited express on Saturday from Auckland. Mr. W. Duncan, secretary to John Fuller ami Sons, Limited, returned to Wellington by the Limited express on Saturday after a visit to Auckland. Mr. Hans G. Maehl, Wellington manager of Irvine Stevenson’s St. George Company, Ltd., will leave Wellington for the south by air this morning. Mr. F. R. Herron, managing director of the Fremantle Cold Storage Company, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea from Sydney on Friday. He is on a holiday visit to the Dominion. Mr. A G. Stephenson, of the Melbourne architectural flrm of Stephenson and Turner, arrived at Auckland by the Awatea from Sydney last Friday. He expects to leave for Wellington by air today. Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Hoard, and president, of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, who attended the Auckland provincial conference of the federation, returned to Wv.Uiugton by the Limited express ou Saturday. Air. B. A Abbott was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court, in Christchurch on Friday last, by Air. Justice Northeroft, on the motion of Air. A. W. Brown. Air. Abbott, who will leave soon for England, has been Mr. Justice Northcroft’s associate for the last two years and a half. Mr. J. D Lewis, an Auckland University College student, who was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship at Christ Church, Oxford, lias been awarded the baelielor of arts degree with first class honours. He lias accepted a position on the staff of College School, Jersey.
