Fat Sheep Improve At Gisborne Sale 'ZJ Dominion Special Service. GISBORNE, July 29. Fat sheep values improved at the Gisborne stock sale, most ewes making 12/to 14/6 and a few 8/- to 9/3. Wethers made only store values at J3/4. Lambs, extra, sold for 15/4. others 11/- to 11/6. small 8/6 to 9/-. The store sheep market was firm. Breeding ewes, four, six and eight-tooth, good, sold to 15/-: failing mouths, excellent otherwise, 12/-; medium lines. 6/3 to 8/-; wethers, 12/3 to 14/-; ewes, running Ininbs, one counted, a good line, the first of the season, 16/10; hoggets, good lines. 10/5 to 11/7: ewe hoggets. 14/3 to 14/10: Down hoggets, good. 6/9 to 8/-; fairly good. 5/- to 5/6. Beef met a keen demand for anything finished. Station cows brought to £6 15/-; medium. £5/11/-; unfinished. £4 11/-; Jerseys, to £5/11/-; medium-weight bullocks, £7/2/6 to £7/5/-. Winter conditions in the district to date are very favourable for early lambing.
