Husband Of Injured Woman Remanded

DARGAVILLE, July 12.
There is a slight improvement today in the condition of Mrs. Winters, who was admitted to the Northern Wairoa Hospital yesterday with severe injuries to the head inflicted as the result of an assault at her home in Te Kopuru yesterday morning. The injuries are alleged to have been inflicted with an axe now In the hands of the police. Mrs. Winters is the mother of five children whose ages range from six years to 15 years. Harold Heawa Winters, the husband, who was arrested shortly after the incident on a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm, appeared in the Dargavllle Magistrates’ Court this morning and was remanded to appear in Dargaville on August 2.
