Wellington Exchange Quiet AUSTRALIANS FIRMER Quiet conditions again ruled in the Wellington stock and share market yesterday, business being generally restricted. The only bright feature was the firmness of leading Australian industrials. Government stocks showed little or no change, but there were a fair number of buying quotations. Banks were dull and mostly weak. Commercial of Australia were firm at 16/7, but Australasias were weak at £9. New Zealand# sagged to 38/2. Little interest was shown ip financials and gas shares. There were further sales of N.Z. Guarantee Corporations at the unchanged price of 4/-. Insurance shares were steady at about late rates. Huddart Barkers were marked up to 54/6. .Dominion Breweries were easier at 33/-. British Tobaeeow firmed to 51/1 without support. Broken Hill Proprietary advanced to business at 69/-. Electrolytic Zines sold at 52/-, and the preference had sales at 56/9. Colonial Sugars were firm at £49, and Dunlop-Perd-riaus improved to 21/4. N.Z. Drugs were wanted at 67/-.
