POTATO PRICES
Housewives Complain Of
Increase
Dominion Special Service
AUCKLAND, June 30.. Dissatisfaction that is being felt by housewives at the present high price o potatoes, has given rise to a suggestio that there should be an Increase in the home-growing of potatoes and other vegetables, which has shown a decline in recent years. The wholesale price of potatoes in Auckland ranges up to £l6 a ton, or more than twice ns much as at this time last rear, and the retail price is now 51b. for 1/-. High prices are attributable, at least partly, to the poor crop ip the South Island, which is at present supplying the Auckland market.
