Send-Off To Popular Mail

Mr. J. T. O’Sullivan, assistant-super-visor of the mail branch of the Chief Post Office, Wellington, who is retiring after 40 years’ service, was farewelled by the staff of the office yesterday.

In the presence of a very large gathering of officers. the acting-chief postmaster, Mr. F. G. Kind, presented to Mr. O’ ullivan a handsome leather golf hag, clubs and balls, and to Mrs. O’Sullivan an enclosed parcel, as a mark of appreciation and love from bis fellow-officers. The superintendent of mails, Mr. A. E. Fredric, also spoke and emphasized that Mr. O’Sullivan would be missed by his associates. Mr. E. C. Gamble, senior supervisor, mail branch, and Mr. Cody, representing the messenger branch, added their felicitations on behalf of their respective staffs. Except for a very short period. Mr. O’Sullivan has served the whole of his 40 years in the Wellington mailroom.
