Von Nida And Cremin Arrive TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND The noted Australian professional golfers, Norman Von Nida and Erie Gremin, arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Awatea yesterday to make a tour of the Dominion, which will last for about a month. Both have been in the forefront of Australian golf for some years, though they are 'both only 24 years of age. Von Nida has held the Philippine Islands open championship for the past two years, and is also the holder of the Australian Federal capital open title. Cremin is the Australian and New South Wales professional champion.

Von Nida is known in Australia as the “Giant Killer” as he has at dif-, ferent times beaten in Australia such world-renowned professional players as Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen, and Bobby Locke. After leaving New Zealand he intends to compete for both the American and the British open titles this year, and he also stated yesterday that he intended competing at the New Zealand Centennial golf tournaments this year. He said that, at least 15 Australian professionals and a team of amateurs would come over for the New Zealand Centennial tournaments. Though on the short side —Cremin stands sft. 7in. in height, and Von Nida sft. 6in.—and slightly built, both can get distance from the tee, and they should fully extend New Zealand’s best players during their tour, which will open today with an exhibition match on the Masterton Club’s links, in which the visitors will be opposed by Keith Williams, the Masterton professional, and J. P. Hornatorook, the Wellington provincial amateur champion.

Tomorrow afternoon, Von Nida and Cremin will play a match against the professionals, R. C. Butters and J. D. Mclntosh, on the Miramar links. J. Shaw, at Miramar. April 30: Exhibition match, Wanganui. May 2: New Plymouth. May 3: Palmerston North. May 4: Dannevirke. May 5: Hastings. May 6: Napier. May 7: Gisborne. May 10: Rotorua (in morning) ; afternoon, Hamilton. May 13: Challenge match, Von Nida

v. Alex. Murray, at Akarana links, Auckland. May 14: Exhibition match, Otahuhu. May 15: Whangarei. Cremin will leave New Zealand on May 12, to take part in the Queensland open championship tournament, which starts on May 25, and Von Nida will leave Auckland by the Monowai for Vancouver on May 16.
