FRESHWATER RIVER UNDER TASMAN
Water Diviner’s Discovery (Received April 17, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 17. Among a party of New Zealand farmers who arrived by the JVanganella today on a goodwill tour of New South Wales and Victoria was a water-divin-er, Mr. W. J. Livingstone, of Hawke’s Bay, who told .a “Suu” reporter that lie had discovered a fast-flowing freshwater river beneath the Tasman Sea. Mr. Livingstone said that he was experimenting during the voyage when there was a definite pull on his rod lasting a minute or so about halfway across the Tasman. He estimated that the river was several hundred feet wide.
