Vice-Regal. Yesterday morning his Excellency the Governor-General paid a visit of inspection to the Dominion Monarch. Sir Harry Twyford (Loudon) was the guest of his Excellency at luncheon at Government House. Captain R. Stuart-French, who has relinquished his appointment as Military Aide-de-Ca'mp to his Excellency the Governor-General, left Wellington on Thursday evening for Auckland, en route to England. Ministerial. The Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education, will return to Wellington from the Soutli Island today. The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public AVorks, left Wellington for Auckland on Thursday night to attend a demonstration of earth-moving machinery at the Whenuapat aerodrome. He will return to Wellington on Monday.

The Hou. F. Laugstone, Minister of Lands, who will leave New Zealand next week to represent the Government at Illis year’s conference of the International Labour Office in Geneva, and Mrs. Langstone, were the guests of the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, and of members of Cabinet and their wives, at a farewell gathering in the Prime Minister’s office yesterday. Mr. AVilliam Herbert Cudby was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Blair yesterday, on tlie motion of Mr. T. P. Cleary. Sir AVilliam Hunt, managing director of AVright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., left AVellington for the South Island last night by the steamer express. Mr. .1. G. Alexander, who is retiring from the position of Dunediu city engineer, was entertained at luncheon by members of the Otago Harbour Board.

Mr. W. M. Carson, Manley, New South Wales, who has been touring New Zealand, arrived from the south yesterday. He is to remain in AVeliingtou till Monday and will then return to Australia by the Awatea.

Captain Reginald Wallis, who was general secretary of the Young Men’s Christian Association in Dublin from 1921 to .1933, is on liis way to visit New Zealand, and will give a number of public addresses. For the last five years Captain AVallis has been carrying out evangelical work, particularly among young people, in England ami America.
