MR. F. T. GLASGOW
Funeral Largely Attended The high esteem in which Mr. F. T. Glasgow, late manager of To Aro branch of the Bank of New Zealand, who died on -Monday, was held, was shown by the large number which attended the funeral yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance at the service which was conducted at the mortuary chapel of E. Morris, Jun., Ltd., in Kent Terrace, by tlie Rev. D. D. Scott, who also officiated at the service at the Karori Crematorium. The chief mourners were Mr. J. Glasgow, brother, and Mrs. J. Glasgow, and Mrs. F. A. Morris, of Napier, a sister. The pallbearers were Messrs. H. H. Featherstone, of the head office of the Bank of New Zealand; E. C. Graham, of the Te Aro branch of the Bank of New Zealand; S. 8. Dean, chairman of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union, of which Mr. Glasgow was it member; AY. J. Wallace and J. O’Sullivan, members of the 1905 All Black team, of which Mr. Glasgow was a member; Keith Glasgow, principal of Scots College, a cousin of Mr. F. T. Glasgow; and Frank Stringer, also a cousin. The following cablegram was received from the South African Rugby Football Board, whose team Mr. Glasgow piloted round the North Island in .1937: "Board and Springboks of 1937 tour desire to express deepest regret and sympathy on death of Frank Glasgow. Please convey to relatives.” A telegram of sympathy was also received from the Southland Rugby Union. Among the many wreaths forwarded were those from the New Zealand Rugby Union, the Wellington Rugby Union, Te Aro staff of the Bank of New Zealand, Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Sullivan and family, and the AA’ellingtou Bowling Club. A large number of noted footballers attended to pay their last tributes. Among them were Messrs. AV. J. Wallace, J. O’Sullivan, A. McDonald and H. D, Thomson, fellow members of the 1905 All Black team; Messrs. S. S. Dean, A. McDonald, J. G. Roache, A. C. Kitto, AV. J. AVailace and A. E. Nielson, members of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union; Messrs. J. Prendeville'(president), J. N. Millard (chairman), and H. B. Simmons. J. D. King and 11. Murphy, of the management committee of the AVellington Rugby Union; Rev. C. V. Rooke, Group Commander T. E AVilkes, of the New Zealand Air Force Mr. J. AV. Heenan, Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs; Messrs. P. C. AVatt, C. L. Mulloney, H. R. AVright, H. E. Nicholls, E. Perry and B. AVarwick.
