To Have Two Powerful Naval Radio Stations
DARWIN, January 25.
Two long-range radio stations, which will cost about £40,000, will be creeled near Darwin this year by the Commonwealth Government for use by the Royal Australian Navy.
The stations, which will be among the most powerful in the world, will be creeled as one of the principal links In the chain for the defence of British waters south of the Tropic of Cancer and are intended to form part of Australia’s development of Darwin as a southern adjunct of Singapore.
