Sir, —People keep asking what the Government is driving at in its import restrictions. If they really want to know the objective of the present Government let them study a book called “•Socialism iu Evolution,” by G. D. H. Cole, of New College, Oxford, England. It can be had in the Penguin Edition, price 1/-, at anj' book store. Rumour has it that Mr. Cole, who is the adviser of the Labour Party in England, is also head sarang of the New Zealand Government, and that when Mr. Nash and Mr. Savage were in England recently he advised them to have nothing to do with the Douglas Credit movement. The Labour Party in England, through the “Labour Herald” and the “New Statesman,” are all out to boost everything this Government does. —I am, etc., NOT QUITE BLIND AVellington, January 24.
