YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Wellington.—After a little light rain in the early hours of the morning, yesterdav was fine and sunny till late in the afternoon, when the sky clouded over. There was a fresh north-westerly wind. Minimum temperature Monday night, 53 4deg.; maximum yesterday, 61. I deg. At 3 P.m. the temperature was 63?5deg. and the barometer reading 29.731 in. Palmerston North.- —Fine and sunny with passing clouds and a gusty westerly wind. Temperatures became colder late in the afternoon. Masterton.—Fine and warm, with little cloud. Varying westerly breeze. Wanganui.—Blue sky and bright sunshine all day, with a fresh westerly breeze. Sea rough. The barometer reading .at 4 p.m. was 29.89 in., rising. New Plymouth.—Bright, sunny day with a light westerly wind. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 29.80 in. Waipukurau.—A perfect summer day with a maximum temperature of SOdeg. The barometer rose two points, reading 28.90 in. Napier and Hastings.—Fine, sunny, and very hot, with a light north-west wind. Auckland. —Rain fell for a short time, in the morning, but the afternoon was fine and clear. The wind was moderate from the. south and the maximum temperature was 73deg. Barometric pressure rose steadily, the reading at 5 p.m. being 29.92 in. Cliristcliurcli. —Fine in Christchurch with intermittent sunshine and a moderate to strong south-westerly wind. 'Phere was a very light shower of rain iu the early afternoon. The maximum temperature was'62.2deg. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 29.77:n„ and was rising. Dunedin.—The sky was alternately clear and overcast. A heavy rain shower fell early in the afternoon. The barometer rose' steadily to 29.78 in. The maximum . temperature was 63deg. A light to moderate breeze prevailed from the southwest. *
