PIONEER'S BIRTHDAY
Mrs. F. J. Cox 94 Years Old > Yesterday
Dominion Special Service. WOODVILLE, January 24.
Still enjoying good health, a worthy pioneer of the district, Mrs. Francis J. Cox. celebrated her ninety-fourth birthday today at her home, Gladstone Street, Woodville. Relatives and friends conveyed their good wishes to Mrs. Cox, among early callers to offer their congratulations being the mayor, Mr. R. It. Johnston, and Mrs. Johnston. A congratulatory message was also received from Sir Alfred Ransom, M.P. for the district, and Lady Ransom. Representatives of various religious bodies were among those who paid their coniplimeuts to Mrs. Cox.
Surviving members of the family are Mesdanies W. Bly (Morrinsville), G. Hutchinson (Masterton), A. Crozier (Woodville), Messrs. A. Cox (Opotiki), P. Cox (Mangamahu, Fordell), 11. Cox (New Plymouth) and It. Cox (Hokitika). There are 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. 3’llo present of a handsome birthday cake, appropriately designed and inscribed, was received from Mrs. Ralph Cox, Hokitika, for the celebrations.
