WATERLOO CARD EVENING
The first “500” evening of the year was held at the 'Waterloo School .on AVednenday evening and was largely attended. XPhe organizing committee comprised Mr. R. Smith, chairman, Mrs. V. Swaflieltl. Mr. 11. K. Hale, treasurer, Mr. 11. .M. Ibell. secretary, Mr. R. Johnson. Mr. T. Ritson and Mr. A. Meiklejohn. The prize winners were: Mrs. Cox and Mr. Malin 1, Mrs. J. Toller and Mr. Brownlee 2; special prize, Mrs. Strachan. The players were Mtsdames Park, Ord. Pileher, Brownlee. Todd, Gordon, Haiselden, Barr. Brien, Flynn, Mead. Addie. Foot, McLean. Messrs. Kent. Todd, McLean,’ Lovett, Hoare, Craig, Gleeson', Kells, Mead. Hall and Green.
PETONE SWIMMING CLUB
In spite of a very cold wind there was a good attendance at the McKenzie Baths last night for the weekly club night of the Petone Swimming Club.
Results:— 33 1-3 Junior Girls.—Mildred Helson. I. Time, 27. 33 l-3yds. Senior Women. —Z. Strickland, 1. Time, 25. . 33 1-3 Junior Boys.—J. Milburfte, 1; R. Eggleston, 2. Time, 30. Diving.—Junior boys: R. Eggleston, 1. Junior girls: M. Helson, 1. Senior men; J. Duffy, 1. Senior women: Z, Strickland, 1.
Water Polo.—Petone O 4, Varsity C 0; Varsity B 1, Petone B 0.
Mrs.-Stephen Curtis, who has been visiting Lower Hutt, has returned, to her home in Petone.
