FINES IMPOSED

Traffic Offences In Lower Hutt

Traffic offences committed within the Lower Hutt borough were dealt with yesterday in the Magistrates’ Court, Lower Hutt, by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M. Tor exceeding the speed limit of 25 miles an hour for the type of vehicle he was driving Philips Darke, Carterton, was fined £3 and costs. Jefferson Evans was fined £2 and costs for attempting to cross a railway line when it was not clear.

For not having warrants of fitness Norman Ivan McEwan was fined 10/and costs; Leslie Godfrey Barnes, Khandallali, 2/C; Adam Platt Whitehead, 17/6 nnd costs; Cyril Ernest Young 10/and costs; Thomas Martin 12/6 and costs; and Clara Isabella Butt £1 and costs.

Arthur James Kilkolly, Petone, was fined £1 and costs for negligent driving. For failing to signal when drawing out from the kerb Herbert William Land and Edward John Hamilton were each fined £1 and costs.

For driving a motor-cycle without due care and attention lan Hamilton Duff was fined 30/- and costs.

For failing to give way to traffic approaching from the right John William Woolley was lined £1 and costs. Reginald Charles Miles was fined 30/and costs for negligent driving.

For riding a bicycle without a light Jack Meyrick was fined 25/-. For not having a rear reflector on his bicycle he was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Thomas .Seiwood was fined 30/- and costs for having defective brakes < his car. For exceeding the speed limit of 30 miles an hour Reginald Hosie was fined £2 and costs; Douglas Lean, Wellington, £2 and costs; Bertie Smith. Wellington, 30/- and costs; lan Wallis 30/- and costs; Jack Barnes £2/10/- and costs; Lance Godfrey Barnes; Khandallah, £2 and costs; Alfred Brandon, Wellington, £2 and costs; and May Burton £3/10/and costs. For parking on a bus stop Raymond Spedding was fined 30/; and costs.
