OLIVER—BLACKMORE. The engagement is announced, of! Dorothy Louisa, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Bladkmore, Northland, to Robert Horwood, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Oliver, Chatswood, Sydney. Going Abroad Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Pascoe left Wellington by the Wanganella last night for a short visit to Melbourne. Mrs. J. B. Thompson and the Misses Joan and Nancye Thompson, Christchurch, will leave New Plymouth today, for Wellington. They will sail this week to spend a holiday in England.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carr and Miss Valerie Carr left Wellington by the Wanganella for a holiday visit to Sydney.
