And Is Overcome
By Telegraph— Press Association
INVERCARGILL, January 14.
Mr. Robert Fraser, aged about 37 years, died this morning as the result of suffocation following an outbreak of fire in his home at 4.30 a.m. His wife, three children, and a housekeeper got out, and when it was found that a fourth child had been left inside the front portion of the house, which was burning fiercely, Fraser returned to the burning building.
When the brigade broke in they discovered him lying in the hall badly burned on the shoulders and face. He was still breathing, but died on the way to hospital. The child was rescued in the passage and is making a good recovery from slight burns.
