INCREASE IN FEES PROBABLE Wellington Committee Recommendations The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association management committee, at its last meeting, decided to recommend to the council at the May meeting that the atliliation fee payable by clubs (excluding sub-associations), be increased from 2/6 to 4/- a member. This is in furtherance of an effort to increase the association’s income by approximately £230 a year in order to allow the tennis at Miramar to be controlled successfully.

It is hoped to secure £7OO from the sale of two sections fronting the Miramar courts. This sum, put toward the reduction of the bank overdraft, would result in a reduction of interest by approximately £3l/10/-. It was decided to approach the city council for a total or part remission of the rental of £lOO a year, paid under the lease, for the balance of the term of the lease.

With a view of producing an approximate increase of £BO, the interclub committee is to be asked to revise the entry and ground fees. It was suggested that this could be achieved by' a 50 per cent, to 100 per cent, increase in 'entry fees, and from one shilling to two shillings a team increase in g mind fees. The secretary i ~d grounds commitlee are to revise the public and club hire charges. Boys’ Team. It was stated that the New Zealand Lawn Tenuis Association proposes sending a team of four junior boy players to Sydney to compete in the junior age championships, which begin at the end of February, provided suitable nominations are received. The team would leave New Zealand about the middle of February, and return about the middle of March. Each player selected would be required to contribute £l5 toward his own expenses. Nominations will close ou January 23. The selectors are Messrs. J. A. McGill, W. J. Melody, and Dr. A. E. Park.
