GILBY’S COLLEGE RESULTS

Chamber Of Commerce Examinations

Ar. the last Chamber of Commerce examinations held in November, students trained at Gilby’s College created a new record. Again the highest places for the whole of New Zealand for typewriting have been gained by Gilby-trained candidates. First place was awarded to Miss Dorothy M. Wilson and second place to Miss Eileen G. Wray. In handwriting equal first with another Wellington candidate was gained by Miss Glynn Williamson. Special bronze medallions were awarded to Miss Kathleen Joyce Smith and Aliss Margaret K. Ashton. In the Wellington Extmination Centre 25S certificates were awarded to Gilby's College candidates in all subjects as compared with 85 certificates gained by all other colleges combined. Students presented by Gilby’s College gained 23 passes with honours and 59 passes with distinction as compared with nine passes' with honours and eight passes with ditinction by'all other candidates combined.

Tuition at Gilby's College in the day and evening commercial departments will be resuming on Alonday next, January 16 and early enrolment is recoim mended. Instruction in the other departments will recommence on the following dates: —Day secondary on January 23; Accountancy on February 1; Evening secondary on February 14.
