YESTERDAY’S WEATHER

Wellington.— A beautiful summer's day, with some cloud at times in the afternoon, but otherwise sunny and warm, with a moderate north-westerly breeze. The minimum temperature on Thursday night was 55 degrees, and the maximum temperature yesterday was 70,2 degrees. At 3.30 yesterday afternoon the temperature was 66.3 degrees, and the barometer reading was 29.318 inches. Palmerston North.— Fine, with passing clouds and a strong westerly wind. Temperatures slightly warmer. Masterton.— Sunny and mild, with a light to moderate westerly wind. Wanganui.— Fine, but with strong westerly wind blowing. Very rough seas off Castle-cliff. ' . New Plymouth.— Rain during morning. Sunshine in the afternoon. Light westerly wind. Barometer at o p.m. 29.50 inches. . , Waipukurau.— Fairly heavy westerly wind throughout the day. Maximum temperature 79 degrees. Barometer 29 42 ipches. Niipi'er mid Hastings — Beautiful sunny day, cooler temperatures. M Hid moderated a good deal. . Auckland.— Dull with showers in the afternoon. Christchurch.— The morning was me and clear, with a light north-easterly wind which continued throughout the day. At midday, the sky clouded, and there was intermittent sunshine till 4 p.m., when rain, preceded by a mild thunder* storm, began. Maximum temperature 65 degrees.
