Ministerial. The Hon. Mark Fagan, Leader of the Legislative Council, returned to Wellington from the north yesterday and attended the meeting of Cabinet.

Mr. F. J. Shanks returned to Wellington yesterday after a visit to the South Island.

Squadron Leader G. L. Stedman, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington. He arrived by the steamer express yesterday. Mr. 11. D. Aeland, Christchurch, president of the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation, arrived at Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. . Mr, James Fletcher, of the Fletcher Construction Company, Limited, was a passenger for the north by the Limited express from Wellington last night.

Mr. H. B. Duckworth, Christchurch, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning by the steamer express.» Mr. J. L. Van Whye, assistant general manager in Australia for the Royal Packet Navigation Company, will arrive at Auckland from Sydney by the Awatea on Monday on a business visit. Dr. T. G. Gray, Director-General of Mentpl Hospitals, who has been on a brief visit to Auckland, returned to Wellington by the Limited express yesterday. Mr. R. B. Tennent, director of the fields division of the Department of Agriculture, returned to Wellington by the first express from Auckland yesterday. Captain G. Humphreys-Davies has resumed the honorary euratorship of Eastern art at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. He relinquished the position some time ago because of pressure of other duties.

The Rev. Father L. Aldridge, S.M., who has been assistant parish priest at St. Mary’s Church, Manners Street North, Christchurch, for the last few years, has been transferred to Blenheim. He will be succeeded at St. Mary’s by the Rev. Father A. T. Bergin, S.M., who has arrived from Sydney to take up his new duties. Commander G. N, Loriston-Clarke, whose term of service on the New Zealand station has expired, arrived at Wellington by the Limited express from Auckland yesterday to join the Rangitane on his return to England. He was accompanied by his wife and family. Commander Loriston-Clarke relinquished command of the Imperial escort vessel Wellington last Saturday, being succeeded by Commander R. E. HydeSmith.
