-Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wing, Perry Street, Masterton, were the host and hostess on a recent evening at a delightful party held iu honour of Miss Nancy Rutherford, who is shortly to be married. The party took the form of a kitchen gift evening and was held in the Savage Club rooms. The guests enjoyed dancing and a pleasing interlude |was provided by Daniell Davey's tap-dancing. The bride-to-be received many useful gifts, for wVilcli Mr. A. Southey thanked her friends. _ A pleasant evening was concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Sync.” Returned To Wellington Mr. and Mrs. R. Wright, Wellington, have returned from a visit to Timaru, where they Were the guests of Mrs. C. Chapman. Mrs. Burdekin and Miss J. Burdekin have returned to Wellington after staying with Mrs. A. C. Pease, Eltham. Mrs. H. A. Gilbert, Hill Street, Wellington. has returned from a holiday in Canterbury. Miss N. Caidwell, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. J. Caldwell, Hessey Street, Mtisterton. lias returned to Wellington. Going Abroad - Miss Beryl Ensoll. Auckland, will leave from Wellington by the Rangitatlt; today for England, where her marriage will take place. # .Mrs. K. Masters, formerly of the Child Welfare Department. Mr. 0C. Masters. Miss Esther Ueiiuiston, Wellington, who returned a few months ago from England, is the guest of Mrs. A. E. Flower, Christchurch, at her seaside house in Sumner. Mrs. L. Maries, Wellington, is visiting Christchurch. She has been visiting her daughters, Mrs. Alex. Fraser, Kurow, and Mrs. "Wyvern Price. Pentluml Hills, and is now the guest of Mr. and Miss Bezar, Cashmere Hills.
