ARREST OF BRITISH PRO-CONSUL
Charges Still Unknown (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 11. Information was received tonight that Mr. C. B. .Terrain, British agent at Burgos, has visited Mr. Ernest Golding, British pro-Consul at San Sebastian, who was arrested in connexion with the consular mailbag incident.
Mr. Golding Is in prison, and Mrs. Golding and Senorn Lagarde, a clerk in the San Sebastian Vice-Consulate, are in the women’s hostel used for female prisoners. They stated that they had no complaint to make of their treatment while under detention. An answer is still awaited to the written communication which Mr. .Terrain delivered to Burgos asking to be informed of the charges* and the evidence upon which the Goldings are detained.
