Squally And Rather Changeable Generally.

Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending at 3 p.m. today An anti-cyclone is still located over the north Tasman Sea, but a deep depression has moved on to the Dominion, and is being followed by a series of rapidly-moving secondaries advancing from the south-west. The forecast is for winds varying between north-west and south-west, but with north of west predominating in the North Island and south of west in the South Island, later becoming more generally south-westerly. Force strong, with gales at times south of New Plymouth and Napier. Seas rough on the west coast south of Taranaki and about Cook and Foveaux

Straits; elsewhere moderate. Strong winds between north-west and south-west in the eastern Tasman Sea, with gales in the southern portion; seas moderate in the north,

otherwise rough. Weather squally and rather changeable generally. Showery on the west coast south of Taranaki and in Otago and Southland, otherwise mainly fair to cloudy, but occasional showers probable in most districts. Temperatures cold in the south, warm at times east of the ranges, otherwise moderate to mild.
