NEW YORK, January 12.
The Washington correspondent of the New York ‘•Herald-Tribune,” forecasting the probable contents of President Roosevelt’s armament message to Congress, states that the President is likely to ask for a two-year special enlarged defence programme, entailing 540,000,(NX) dollars, of which 300,000,000 dollars will be for aviation. It is believed that the President will ask also for approximately 6000 new planes, which, with the navy’s contemplated 3000, will make a total of 9000-planes.'
