CITY MISSION CAMP
This year the Uipaki Racecourse, Masterton, was the scene of the annual boys’ camp organized by the Wellington City Mission authorities. The campa were first organized by the late Rev. T. Fieldea Taylor 17 years ago. and this year’s camp, which ended last week, was the first to be held in the Wairarapa for 15 years. Eighty-three 'boys, including a party of 35 from \the Butt Valley under the leadership of Mr. R. Dunn, attended the camp, their ages ranging from seven to 16 years'. Cricket and football were played each day, and regular swimming lessons were given. Mr. R. Kemp was in charge of the camp, Mr. T. Anderson in charge of the canteen, and Mr. 11. Lee in charge of the cookhouse. The acting-miasioner, Mr. Neville C. Titchener, also attended for a few days. The mission authorities extend thanks to the stewards of the Masterton Racing Club for placing the grounds and buildings of the racecourse at their disposal, and to the caretaker of the club, Mr. Gibbs, for his assistance.
