Proposed N.Z. Film Board Of Control

QMIE proposed New Zealand Film X Board of Control is explained in the “Motion Picture Exhibitors’ Bulletin.” The proposal is for a personnel of nine—four representatives of exhibitors, four representatives of distributors, and a chairman of independent status, preferably a magistrate appointed by the Government. To act as a tribunal for the settlement of disputes arising out of the contractual relationships between renters and exhibitors; to act as an advisory board on matters touching the welfare of the industry; to consider any matters referred to it by the Minister of Internal Affairs or other Government authority; and to arbitrate on any question of not being a dispute arising out of a contract) submitted to it by the voluntary agreement of '.he parties to a dispute within the industry.

It has been pointed out that an agreement has been reached on the foregoing functions by exhibitors and Tenters, and duly drawn up to give effect to them.
