Decrease In N.Z. Shipments

FIVE MONTHS’ FIGURES

A substantial decrease in shipments of butter and cheese last month and for the five months ended December 31 is shown in the export returns of the Primary Products Marketing Department issued by the Dairy Board. Shipments of butter last juonth were 12.051 tons, as against 18,195 for December. 1937. a decrease of 5244 tons. 1-or the live months of the 1938-39 season ended December 31 exports of butter_were 5-1,302 tons, as compared with 64.621 tons for tiie corresponding period of last season, a decrease of 10,32<> tons, or 15.91 per cent. Details of the five months’ shipments compare as follows:—
