ESTATE OF £1,400,000
Personal estate in Great Britain, valued at £1,439,177, has been left by Mr. John Smith, Eastwoodhill, Giffnock, Renfrewshire, manager of the F. and J. Smith branch of the Imperial Tobacco Company of Great. Britain and Ireland in Glasgow, and foraierly a partner in I’. and J. Smith, L,d., tobacco manufacturers. of Glasgow.
Mr. Smith, who died recently, aged 70, was a generous supporter of charities during his life, and in his will, published recently, he made bequests totalling more than £40.000 to hospitals, institutions, religious ail'd other charities.
Among these bequests was one of £lO.OOO to the ’Victoria Infirmary, Glasgow, to endow a ward.
