Many of the new colours in nail varnish are extremely intriguing. There are cyclamen, thistle, sundown, and purple. Purple nails are extremely fashionable on the Continent, but it is doubtful whether the craze will ever spread. Pearl and opalescent are also beautiful shades, and their delicateness is extremely suitable for evening wear.
Says the psychologist. Dr. Harold Dearden: “None but doctors or the victims themselves can realize the terrible tragedies, the wasted lives, and tortured nerves, which are so often the outcome of the ruthless exploition, for instance, of a daughter's devotion and readiness for self-sacri-fice. Possessive parents . . . deserve to be boiled in oil for their activities in this respect."
