Christmas Page And Sunshine Box

All Entries Close On Wednesday

[[ULLO, My Leaguers! Christinas is simply rushing upon us, and there still seem piles of presents to buy and cards to send, and, of course, stories to write and sketches to draw for our very special Christinas page. The inail is full of very exciting things—talcs and poems and cards, toys for Sunshine Box, and dolls and dolls and dolls! It is going to be a task to decide which doll is best dressed before they arc all packed up in Sunshine Box and sent off to the Otaki Health Camp. There are baby dolls and Dutch dolls and little Japanese maidens, dancing dolls and dainty little twins, And there are soft animals and golliwogs, and scrapbooks in huge piles. Even so, 1 am sure that there are more gift entries to come, so if you arc dressing a doll, making a toy, or a scrapbook, hasten to catch the mail —and perhaps a star point—by Wednesday. December 14 is also the last day for all contributions for Christmas page. The sections, which arc divided into junior and senior, are open to all ... members, and' the star points awarded to winning entnes will be included in the totals toward book prizes, which arc sent out during Christmas week. Entries are invited for short stories, about 500-700 words, preferably with New Zealand setting; Christmas poems, Christmas articles, black and white sketches, and Christmas-card designs. All work must be written in ink on one side of the papa, and drawings must be done in indian ink. not blue ink or in colours. Original entries only are wanted for the Christmas page. ■ On Wednesday night Postie will bring in the last mails in time for Christmas entries, so finish your contributions and hurry along to the Post Office, the mail-box, or the red letter-box on the corner.
